General Guidelines
What to Roll Up
- All colors and sizes of the same style
- Products with letters meant to signify initials
- Products with zodiac signs
- Multiple sizes of beauty and fragrance products
- Home sets like bedding, towels, table linens
Kids Size Ranges
Kids’ styles are bought in size ranges, so most styles need to have multiple size groups rolled up in order to show all options on one PDP.
If the rollups are not completed, SPDs may vary and there will be duplicate images in the product array.

Same Prints
Styles with different colors of the same print should be rolled up.
Fragrance & Skincare
Different sizes of the same fragrance or skincare product should be rolled up. If possible, images of all of the different size packaging should be uploaded as alt images.
Makeup
All shades of the same product should be rolled up.
Zodiac Signs
Styles with different options for zodiac signs should be rolled up. The product copy should reference “Zodiac” instead of any specific sign. Color names should be the specific sign and complex swatches should be used.
Correctly rolled up but specific sign name needs to be removed from SPD
Jewelry (Colors)
Material is the most important aspect to consider when rolling up Jewelry styles.
G13 styles are more likely to be able to be rolled up because they may have multiple colors in similar materials (i.e. Cubic Zirconia, Enamel, Leather, Goldtone metals). Big brands include Tory Burch, Kate Spade.
For G18, different materials should not be rolled up with the exception of different tones of the same karat gold.
When rolling up jewelry, it is very important to have a reference for color and size. If styles are NO COLOR/NO SIZE in RFS, Item Setup team will need to reach out to buyers before publishing.
Jewelry (Sizes)
Most jewelry styles that have multiple sizes have a different VPN for each size, so will not be automatically rolled up in RFS.
All sizes should be rolled up with the exception of items with variations in diamond weights.
Initials
Products with Initials should be rolled up by style. Most Initial styles fall under Jewelry and Home categories.
Color names should be set up as “INITIAL X” and each option needs a complex swatch.
Copy should exclude any mention of the specific letter and use the word “Initial” in the Short Description.
Table Linens
Multiple sizes and colors of the same style should be rolled up. The size names should specify the measurements in inches and the copy should be reviewed to make sure measurements for all sizes is included.
What to Unroll
- Denim - each wash should live separately
- Different prints
- Products with fur
- Different materials
- Different finishes (metallic/matte)
- Different scents
- Multipacks
Denim
Jeans for women’s, men’s and kids’ should be unrolled so that short product description can include specifics on wash and other details such as distressing.
Prints & Solids
Styles with different prints should always be unrolled from solids.
Copy specifies the print in the short description and some product categories have print-specific arrays and refinements.
Separating prints from solids also allows customers to search for specific prints they may be interested in (in this case “floral”).
Different Materials
Styles with different materials should always be unrolled. Copy includes details of material context and will not be accurate if materials vary by color.
EXCEPTION - Hardware color Styles that have different hardware colors but are otherwise the same can remain rolled up, copy just needs to omit any color-specific information (use “Metal hardware” instead of “Gold metal hardware”.
Any new color activation or post-publication rollup should include a review of final copy to ensure information is still accurate.
Post Publication Roll Ups
- SEO needs to advise on which SVS should be used as the master.
- Reviews cannot be transferred, so if possible the SVS with more reviews should be the master.
- Copy should be reviewed - if one product has the enhanced copy format, that should be transferred to the master.
- Images should be copied in S7, not moved.
- If there are no swatches, they need to be added.
- The product should be QAd in stage before it goes live.
