Offer Updates
The two main parts of an offer are the item's price and the item's sellable inventory. When either needs to be updated in Mirakl, you will send an updated offer.
Stock
How Stock is Managed by Saks
When a customer adds an item to their cart, we check that there is sufficient stock available. We check again when a customer submits their order to ensure that available stock hasn't changed. At any point during the shopping/checkout process, if these stock checks do not pass, the customer is informed that sufficient stock is not available to fulfill their order and they are unable to submit their order.
Be aware that stock can be adjusted automatically based on your order actions. See how stock is affected in Mirakl when you reject or cancel an order.
Dedicated Stock
When you have dedicated stock allocated to Saks marketplace, a daily update of all SKUs are expected at a minimum. More frequent updates are welcomed.
Shared Stock
When you are sharing your available stock with Saks, either with your own sellable stock or with other marketplaces or parties, it is imperative that you inform us of stock changes as soon as they happen on your end to ensure we have the most up to date stock to limit potential cancellations, as well as a full update of all SKUs every day.
Process Time
Stock changes are typically reflected on Saks within 30 minutes.
Price
Price Adjustments
Price adjustments (changes, markdowns, discounts, etc) are made with the same offer update process.
Price Change
- For a retail price change or markdown, you simply update the price attribute. This will adjust the price of the item.
Discounts
- For a discount, you provide the discount price along with the discount start & end dates. On saks.com, this is represented with a strikethrough on the original price along with the discount price.
- If sending discounts via API, you should pass the date only in ISO 8601 format (i.e. YYYY-MM-DD), or if your system requires the time be included, set it to midnight 2025-11-20T00:00:00, as we don’t support mid-day price changes. Do not set the time to UTC or include a time offset.
- If uploading your offer updates via file template manually from your web browser in the Mirakl UI, the template will set the date for you.
Cut Off Time
Our cut-off time for price adjustments is 4pm ET, and those updates are reflected on site the next day. So when sending a price change, the earliest the start date could be is the following day IF submitted before 4pm ET, otherwise the earliest possible the start date is two days out. For example, if sending an offer update today at noon, and you want the discount to be in effect ASAP, you'd use tomorrow as the start date. If you were sending an offer update after 4pm today, and wanted it to be in effect ASAP, you'd set the start date to two days from today.
API Implementation
ℹ️ Reference the API developer portal for implementation details:
API OF24 or OF01
To send offer updates (including removing an offer), call API OF24 for JSON/XML payloads, or OF01 for CSV file imports. Compare OF24 and OF01 APIs. If you want to use OF24 instead of OF01, but are unable to provide both quantity and price, you can first retrieve the offer's current quantity and price by calling API OF22, then using that data to build your request for API OR24.
Checking for Errors
Requests via OF01 and OF24 are processed asyncronously in Mirakl. When calling OF01 or OF24, an 'import_id' attribute will be returned to you - use this import_id to check the status of the import, and if necessary, retrieve any errors:
- OF02 - Get Import Status
- To check the status of your import, send the import identifier received from OF01/OF24.
- In the response, if the 'has_error_report' attribute is 'true', that means one or more of your import records has an error and Mirakl generated an error report with the reason(s) for the error. To retrieve this error report, proceed to OF03.
- OF03 - Get the Error Report File for an Import
- To retrieve the import error report, send the import identifier received from OF01.
- Review the error report, make the necessary changes, and re-import via OF01.
Update Frequency
Mirakl allows offer updates as often as once a minute. This is per API call, not per offer (multiple offers can, and should, be included in an update).
